To any non-Brits on my friendslist. See now, that's what Welsh accents sound like.

Which is why most of us keep on saying that Peter Wingfield (Highlander) doesn't have a Welsh accent. Hey, he's worked really hard to lose his, poor bloke, and anyone who insists he has a Welsh accent are dissing all that work he's done to sound generic upper middle-class English.

And, yes, I really enjoyed Torchwood. Almost (almost) makes up for the postponement of SGA's The Return II.

I love the internets - broadcast on BBC today, and I'll have it in California by this evening.

I know what you mean. Am very thankful when it comes to SGA and SPN, for example.

BTW, evildrem (she's got you friended) is going to put the Torchwood episodes up on her servers and is working on converting them as we type...

Heh!

I've been saying that over and over to people. I even had that conversation with Peter himself. Yet stil people insist on saying he sounds welsh *rolls eyes*

Huh. Will people ever stop insisting he sounds Welsh? I never even thought he sounded Welsh before I knew what Welsh sounded like. ;)

But the difference is *so* obvious. Especially if you're in a room with PW and he purposely puts on the Welsh for a few sentences, and even he admits when he does that that he no longer sounds as Welsh as his Mum.

Torchwood. Hmmm. I've been avoiding doing the download thing mostly due to lack of computer hard drive space but I think I might have to bend and check this out once you know who has it up and ready.

Not having Freeview or otherwise, is it really just Dr. Who with added sex and violence?

It's not really got the same tone as Dr Who. Darker, edgier, the characters are much more flawed. Less upfront humour. And yes, definitely more sex and more explicit violence.

*g* So, did you enjoy episode 2 as much as 1?

I agree the difference is obvious. Which just goes to show that people are perfectly capable of hearing what they want to hear, rather than the actual sounds.

Torchwood is definitely worth the bother IMO. I've seen a couple of posts from people who weren't that keen. And a massive majority from people who adored it/ *g*

OMG I adore this show. Is there any love both truer and more twisted than treasuring your lover's twitching, severed hand? I bet he sits there alone at night and watches it wiggle. Also? Canon sex pollen! Canon mpreg! Russell T Davies wants to write all the fanfic first before we get there. *g*

Hmm, probably too run-of-the-mill for me to bother watching, then. Also, they're starting at Episode 3 on BBC2 it seems, so there's really no point us terrestrials coming in halfway through.

According to my Digiguide they're starting with Episodes 1 and 2 on BBC2 this evening. I'm inclined to think this is accurate, because it would be very peculiar to start the run on terrestrial part-way through. It's listed for an hour and forty minutes, whereas if only one episode was being shown it would be listed for 50 minutes only.

I would say give it a try myself, see if you like it before deciding you don't. *g*

Matt's newspaper today disagrees with the Radio Times I read too: that tonight's are repeats. Which is a good thing, because I really don't see the point in starting to watch something halfway through if you don't have to.

I'll give it a go, of course, but I'm not convinced. And I really like John Barrowman too...
