Well, the new fridge is now on order. It looks remarkably like the old one, same make, same dimensions, same colour. Only cheaper. Obviously the cost of fridges has plummeted in real terms over the last decade. But I really couldn't shop for a larger fridge, as when the kitchen was remodelled it was fitted round the fridge. I've got a typical London kitchen, with space at a premium.

It should be delivered on Thursday. Fingers crossed. And how annoying is it that they can't give me any idea of the time for delivery. No, what they'll do is ring me on Thursday morning at some time between 8-10am and give me a 4 hours window for delivery. Oh yeah, that's very bleeding convenient that is. Means I can't get anything done workwise on Thursday. Thus making the fridge automatically more expensive due to loss of income. Sod it!

[livejournal.com profile] thermidor very kindly offered to wait in for the fridge to be delivered, freeing me to go to court, but I know she can't do Thursday, as she has a friend from the US arriving to visit that day. On the good side, though, I'm really looking forward to meeting the friend, and hopefully will have pristine new fridge by the time they both come round to my place.

I took [livejournal.com profile] jacquez' advice and packed the existing fridge full of ice. And bugger me, but I think the drop in temperature may have actually started the damn fridge working again. I put my hand to the back of the fridge and it appears to be giving out cold air... Which puts me in a dilemma. Do I cancel the new fridge, and see if the old one continues to work? But I don't feel that I can rely on it, and will be worried that it will pack up on me again. If I'm here I can sort it out, but what happens if I'm away on holiday?

On balance I think sticking with the new one is probably best, given that the old one is, well, old.

Also took the opportunity to watch Garrett Maggett's episode of 'ER'. Hmm, must admit I didn't even recognise him at first. Oh well, I was always a Jimbabe (that body. Sigh) at heart.

I think we should subscribe at the Church of Second Chance, but could they please show The Sentinel again? Watching the damn eps on the puter (small screen, bad resolution) is not my fave thing.

*sigh* He's just..... the voice. That's what gave him away, I was just trying to figure out which one he was and then all of a sudden he just launches into that sort of speech and I'm squealing like a fangirl (which I am, but that is another thing altogether LOL).

*waves* Hi there! :)

The Church of Second Chance is brilliant. Great piss-take. Only one problem, did Channel 4 even show Sentinel in the first place? I borrowed [livejournal.com profile] temaris' Sentinel tapes, so at least I got to see them on the TV screen. Really wouldn't like to try and see them on the laptop.

Sounds about right - I eventually recognised him by the voice as well. Perhaps not as enthusiastically as you did *g*. I thought that he looked interesting as the military lawyer, totally different from Blair, which proves that he can act.

Hi back atchya, and I'm sorry to read how ill you are. Bummer.

Well no, The Sentinel was never shown in the UK. That shows how daft all those channels are! But they could? Although it's more likely to find it on Granada Plus than C4 :) I have the tapes as well, seasons 1-2 in greek and ntsc, season 3 in greek and season 4 in... I have no idea what LOL. I didn't like season 4 all that much anyway except TSbBS. A friend sent me the eps on cd so I could carry them along LOL

And yes GM does look rather interesting doens't he? I just get flashes of him like that in the Sentinel and I'm totally loving it. I always thought that he could have been a cop or military.

I have a vague memory of Temaris saying that a few episodes were shown, but could be completely wrong about that. Certainly if any were shown it was very few in number.

But, but, he'd have to cut his hair!!!!!!! Nooooooo, his lovely, bouncy, shiny wait-length flowing locks that adorn his dainty figure, even as Jim picks him up and puts him in his pocket.

And how could you even suggest that delicate little Blairy-wairy could ever bring his vegan-eating, peace-loving, gun-hating delicate sensibilities round to actually being (gasp) a COP!!!!!!!!

You, you, you *character-assassinator* you!

*g*

Sorry am laughing too much to even be able to answer this! LOL
I'll blame this on the medication and never ever suggest that Blair-pooh will ever want to cut his hair. They are probably dragging around his ankles right now.

On the other hand, since this is me and I'm being such a warmongring person, yes, Blair could be a cop, what better profession to restore and maintain peace and control gun problems and him having sensibilities is definitely a plus.

:) Still, you cracked me up and I think it's been a long time since I laughed over something like that, but then again I forgot that Legolas is not the original fragile one, Blair was. LOL

I'll see your fragile Blair and raise you a Ray Doyle (Professionals). Fragile Doyle pre-dates Blair by about 20 years, IIRC. In Doyle's case (if you're not familiar with Pros) he's actually a CI5 agent, one of the toughest of the tough. But, see, he's sensitive and fwagile, and such a delicate little flower. Because he's a whole inch shorter than his partner, Bodie. So, naturally he gets raped and abused and tortured and-- well, you get the picture. Because he's not a man with a helluva nasty temper who kills and brutalises the bad guys several times during the course of the series. Nope, he's an, an, an elf!!

Making the shorter partner the 'fragile one' in a slash pairing is endemic, unfortunately. Well, it's usually the shorter one. In ST:Voy C/P fiction writers somehow conveniently manage to forget that Tom is actually taller than Chakotay and have him looking adoringly up at Chakotay through long, golden lashes *bg*.

Blair could be a cop, what better profession to restore and maintain peace and control gun problems and him having sensibilities is definitely a plus.

Blair would be a fabulous cop IMO, for the reasons you describe above. No disagreement from me whatsoever.

Supposedly, and I have never found the proof of this except for the fact of someone telling me about ts who cannot remotely have come across it via the net or tape tree, that it was on Channel Five sometime between 1995 and 1997, but only the first five or six eps were shown. The corollary is that the first run rights must have run out by now, but no one has shown any interest in picking it up since Bravo didn't manage it about three years ago.

Er, from my perspective, Hairboy. From stageira's perspective, though, Hairboy is the cute one *g*
